How to calculate the resistance of a resistor having four color band?
Resisistor values are indicated by their color coding. The value is read from left-to-right opposite the gold/silver/blank color band.
The first value indicates the first digit. Similarly, second value indicates the second digit. The third value indicates the number of zeros to be placed behind the number (
multiply by 10). And the last color indicate the Tolerance.
For example: A resistor having Orange, Black, Red and Gold color have resistance of 3000 ohms with 5% Tolerance.
values that different color reprerents are:
BLACK= 0
BROWN= 1
RED=2
ORANGE= 3
YELLOW= 4
GREEN= 5
BLUE=6
PURPLE=7
GRAY=8
WHITE=9
